Whenever a group that has been in power is faced with sharing it, it feels devastating to them. They fight hard to keep it. This is what is happening in the United States. White Americans are facing the reality that soon they will no longer be considered the default on every level of society, and their collective will and desires won't dominate everything. Hence, their fear, anger, and violence. But as I stated in the essay, change is inevitable.
