Trump Found Guilty: Why I’m Not Celebrating
The Supreme Court may render justice moot, and create a possible dictator
In his New York hush money trial, Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 counts.
Social media has exploded with posts and memes of celebration.
I’m sure Trump’s cult-like followers are also raging and ranting online. I’m not certain, since I don’t dip my toe in that toxic side of the web.
But although I’m pleasantly surprised at this particular trial’s outcome, I’m not feeling celebratory.
Why?
Because The Supreme Court has yet to rule on the issue of presidential immunity from prosecution.
And since Trump jhas stacked the court with appointees who politically align with him and the agenda of Republican Party, I’m afraid they will rule he can not be held accountable for any of his crimes.
He would be considered above the law since he was once was elected president.
Essentially, the Supreme Court’s ruling could make Trump a potential dictator.
If that is the case, Trump would escape all accountability for all his various criminal and corrupt actions — including calling for a coup against the United States government…
