This is a outstanding review, Simon, from someone who is obsviously a cinephile and loves the original source material. It's great you pont out Herbert's disdain for "the chosen one" trope so may not familiar with the novels seem to miss. My only pont of disagreement with you is about seeing the film in cinema. I view films almost exclusively via streaming at home. That's just my personal preference. However, there are so many in our communities - most notably those with disabilities - who for one reason or another have great difficulties going to see films in theaters. Streaming makes great films more accessible to all. Because bottom line, films are meant to be seen. Congratulations again on such a passionate, informative review!
