According to the site MacRumors, Apple is cutting production of its Vision Pro headset due to lack of demand.

Apple has adjusted down its earlier projections of shipping approximately 700 to 800 thousand units in 2024, to 400 to 450 thousand units. Plans for a modified version of Vision Pro to be released in 2025 have also been scrapped, per Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

No shit.

Apple has a significant misfire on its hands, and as a tech layman, I’m going to bottom-line why the Vision Pro has failed to catch on: at $3500, it’s way overpriced and wearing it makes people look… silly.

There, I said it.

Vision Pro users look like demented scuba divers, especially with that creepy “Eyesight” feature that reproduces soulless, digital replicas of your eyes on the exterior of the visor lens. A feature designed to keep you “connected to others” in the real world.
