Thanks for sharing your story, Vance. Libertarians, in my personal opinion, are just bargain-basement conservatives. But a greater point is, we are indoctrinated to believe the wealthy are inherently smarter, have great character, and are morally superior to the rest of us. That's bullshit. Just because a person has wealth doesn't mean they earned it or are intelligent: See Elon Musk. On the flip side, this nation demonizes the poor - as your conversation with that Libertarian illustrated. The wealthy are never called out for not paying their fair share of taxes. If that alone were enforced, the poverty rate in the United States would be greatly reduced. If CEO salaries were slashed instead of widespread layoffs, that would alleviate the incredible hardship and strain of workers losing their income. But NOO, we "poors" need to live within our means and budget more. We need to stop buying lattes, avocado toast, and bring our lunch to work instead of eating out. You can't budget your way out o poverty. We need to wake up as a nation and confront our real enemies: the WEALTH-care system supporting the rapacious greed of corporations and rich. Thanks for checking out my article!
