Thanks for checking out the article! I agree about Star Wars just re-mining old tropes and plotlines. I disagree about Star Trek: Discovery. I found the show really found its footing after being trasnported into the far, far future. Sonequa Martin-Green and cast were terrific as Captain Burnham, and it was so gratifying to see a Black woman be centered in a Star Trek show. We just need new infusions of ideas, stories, and characters in sci-fi and fantasy onscreen.
