Thank you for shedding light on this alarming problem. Intellectual property rights need to be defended, but bad actors ruin everything. It's funny, I began using Shutterstock.com and paying for the right to use the photos available there because I was seeing many of the same photos being repeatedly used in different articles across the internet and on Medium. I had no idea of the issues surrounding Creative Commons. From now on, if I can use my own photos, I'll use ones I pay for. Yes, it costs, but it's much less expensive than being used.
