Thank you for sharing your experience of touring those sites. I've lived in the South all my life and have never taken one of those tours. I can't imagine the palpable feeling of pain and indignation at having the history of what our ancestors endured on those site whitewashed away for the comfort of non-Black people and profit. Yes, there are a few sites where the unvarnished truth of the hellholes they were is centered. The Whitney Plantation (https://www.whitneyplantation.org/) in Louisiana is one of them, but they are much too few in number.
