Thank you for sharing this perspective. It's very telling how travelers from wealthy countries feel the urge to "gentrify" poorer nations to fit their accustomed level of comfort. Ironically such attitudes and individuals are part of the problem. I agree with you, if you don't like the living conditions and way of life in a foreign country, don't travel there.
