So well said and so true! On social media, I saw one video by a millennial who was laid off from Google. He stated he and his girlfriend flew to Southeast Asia to "decompress." Another video I saw was by a young woman laid off from another huge tech firm who made a video, honest to God, to record her reaction to seeing her bank account balance she hadn't bothered to check in three months. She claims she had been spending her time buying clothes to go clubbing with her friends and embarking on shopping sprees. Compare this to those laid off with no choke-a-horse severance packages and stock options. Absolutely not all the unemployed are created equal and this last round of layoffs in tech exposes the vast class divide in this country.
