I'll grant you most modern Westerns tell a slightly more grounded version of the Old West - but many of these narratives still center white people, or in the case of the Bass Reeves series, are produced by white creators. The Harder They Fall is a rare exception, but how many Westerns centering Black people, made by Black people exist in comparison? Good to know you are finding modern Westerns more palatable. But again, for me, the genre remains wanting.
