Black People’s Blood Soaks The Ground Of America

The United States will forever be haunted

Jason Jenkins, 18, a Black Walmart employee was stabbed in the back on site by Timothy Carter, 28, a white man on March 24, 2024.

Jenkins died from his wounds while being treated at the hospital.

This young Black man — who was minding his own business working — his dreams, goals, hopes, passions, desires, potential, all ended due to one racist, murderous act.

Another Black family is awash in sorrow and grief.

If anyone were to ask me: “What is the story of America?”

Incidents such as the murder of Jason Jenkins would be my answer.

Every time I see the United States flag waving, unlike white America, it incites in me a disdain stoked by my own Black lived experiences, that of my community, and that of my ancestors.

The white of the flag represents the oppressors. The blue of the flag represents the abused bodies of the enslaved.

The red of the flag?

Blood.

Enslaved blood.

Black blood.

The blood of Africans who were captured, forced like sardines into slaver ships, survived (many others…
